Strabismus and General Ophthalmology
Dr. John Dickson is an experienced ophthalmologist specialising in strabismus and general ophthalmology. Joining the Hamilton Eye Clinic in 1997, he draws on decades of experience to provide exceptional care to his patients.
Qualifications:
Dr. Dickson’s practice encompasses general ophthalmology, including cataracts, glaucoma, and strabismus. Having spent time at both The Children’s Hospital at Great Ormond Street, London and The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, he has a compassionate approach that puts both adults and children at ease.
Dr. Dickson has been actively involved in teaching ophthalmology trainees for many years. He has also served as the leader of the Physiology Basic Science examination board at RANZCO, contributing to the development and education of future ophthalmologists.
When asked what motivated him to pursue a career in this industry, Dr. Dickson replied, “My journey into ophthalmology began by chance when I took a casual locum position as a Senior House Officer in Ophthalmology at the West of England Eye Infirmary in Exeter, England. It was there that I discovered my passion for the field and ultimately committed to a career in ophthalmology.”
