Dr Stephen Guest underwent basic medical training in London, before arriving in New Zealand to start his Ophthalmology career.  His basic “eye training” was in Auckland, and later he went on to sub-specialty training posts in Uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London in the United Kingdom and in Vitreoretinal surgery in the United States of America.

Since 2005 Dr Guest has worked in Hamilton, at both the Waikato Public Hospital and the Hamilton Eye Clinic, where he sees mainly patients with retinal disease.  Dr Stephen Guest performs most of his eye operations at the Bridgewater Day Surgery (which is conveniently located in the same building as the Hamilton Eye Clinic) and at the Waikato Public Hospital.
