Dr David Worsley specialises in medical and surgical retina and also has a general ophthalmology practice including cataract surgery.   He trained at Auckland Medical School and did his GP and Obstetric training in Hamilton before moving to do his Ophthalmology training in both Auckland and Hamilton.

Dr Worsley held a senior registrar’s position at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Portsmouth which was followed by a Retinal Fellowship at Bristol Eye Hospital and Lectureship at Bristol University from 1989 to 1991.  Dr Worsley returned to Hamilton in 1991 so that he could introduce vitreoretinal surgery to the Waikato Public Hospital.

Dr Worsley is a visiting specialist at Waikato Hospital and is in private practice at Hamilton Eye Clinic.  He also holds Clinics in both Thames and Whangamata, reaching as many patients as possible in the greater Waikato region. Dr David Worsley is currently involved in research into automated retinal imaging with colleagues at the University of Waikato.
