The building was designed and built in 2005 incorporating all the latest technology, efficiency and patient comfort innovations.Our modern facility offers:

HISTORY:

A new, fully comprehensive, state-of–the-art ophthalmology clinic and surgery facility will open in Hamilton in mid 2004. Situated on the ground floor of the new ‘Bridgewater Building’ located on Grantham Street will be a 1000 sq m clinic and theatre complex with easy access and generous on-site parking.

The existing Hamilton Eye Clinic and the Laser Sight Centre will merge, and with the new Bridgewater Day Theatre provide an expanded range of services. Eight specialist ophthalmologists covering all aspects of general ophthalmology and the entire range of subspecialties will work in the new Hamilton Eye Clinic.

The Bridgewater Day Theatre will be a two operating room, high spec operating theatre complex for local and general day surgery, and laser refractive surgery. This theatre is being developed by a new company, Bridgewater Surgical Services Ltd. We have made the decision to build to all current standards, even though this is not a requirement for day theatres. Provision has been made for patient transfer to other institutions if overnight care is needed after surgery. Hamilton Eye Clinic will perform all its eye surgery in this new facility, but the operating theatre will be suited to a far wider range of procedures.

In the Bridgewater Building we have premium quality space available to lease for other surgical specialists, who may also wish to use the Bridgewater Day Theatre.
